Dr. Vatche Mankerian

Vatché Mankerian is a pianist, composer, educator, and author known for his expressive artistry and commitment to cultural dialogue. He has performed internationally, with appearances at Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall and the Hollywood Bowl, and is widely recognized for his interpretations of Armenian composers, particularly Arno Babajanian. His work spans concert performance, composition, film, and lecture-performance, blending music with storytelling and historical insight. A faculty member at the Pasadena Conservatory of Music, he holds a Doctor of Musical Arts from USC. Mankerian is also the author of Armenian Culture, a pioneering textbook series used in Armenian schools across Los Angeles, and teaches Armenian Language Arts at St. Gregory A. & M. Hovsepian School in Pasadena.
