Shahé Mankerian is a poet, educator, and school principal in Pasadena, California. He is the author of History of Forgetfulness, a poetry collection that explores memory, war, and identity, drawing from his childhood experiences during the Lebanese Civil War. He has dedicated much of his teaching career to elevating minority and diasporan voices in literature, guiding students to see poetry as both inheritance and responsibility. Alongside his 8th grade students at St. Gregory Hovsepian School, he curates annual public recitations that foster intergenerational dialogue through poetry and song, empowering young writers to respond to transformative narratives with their own emerging voices.
