Sehba Sarwar

Sehba Sarwar’s writings and art tackle displacement, migration, and women’s issues. Author of novel Black Wings (Veliz Books), she writes essays, short stories, and poems that have appeared in New York Times, Callaloo, LA Times and elsewhere. Sarwar is the recipient of artist awards through Academy of American Poets, LA’s Department of Cultural Affairs, Pasadena’s Cultural Affairs Division, Mid-America Arts Alliance amidst others and has offered readings at the Armory Center for the Arts, Beyond Baroque, Tia Chucha’s, UC-San Diego, Scripps College and more. She served as Altadena Poet Laureate 2024-26).
