When Good People Write Bad People

Janet Fitch is the author of the Los Angeles novels White Oleander--an Oprah book club selection--and Paint It Black, and the duet The Revolution of Marina M. and Chimes of a Lost Cathedral, historical novels of the Russian Revolution.  Her short stories have appeared in anthologies and journals such as Los Angeles Noir, Black Clock, Room of One's Own,  and Black Warrior Review. She teaches creative writing at the  Community of Writers, and gives weekly writing talks on YouTube Live, Janet Fitch's Writing Wednesday. Her short story "The Method" from Los Angeles Noir has been made into the 2025 feature film "The Long Game" starring Kathleen Turner and Sekai Abeni.
