Gerda Govine

Gerda Govine is known as “The Poetry Lady” in Pasadena and a poetry advocate to help Pasadena evolve into a well-known and established City of Poets. She writes because she cannot help it.  She writes because it gives her freedom like nothing else.  She writes because she is in love with words and how they can round sharp edges of challenging conversations, slow down the process, and at times, shed light into dark corners of doubt and despair. Her life has unfurled and expanded in ways that she could not even begin to fathom.  She considers herself blessed to have gotten to this time in her life, and look forward to new adventures. One of the biggest and life-changing surprises was meeting and marrying her husband Luis, a partner and Renaissance man.
