Chris L. Terry is author of the novels Black Card and Zero Fade, which received accolades from NPR, Kirkus Reviews, and more. With Afro-Punk founder James Spooner, he is co-editor of the Black Punk Now literary anthology, which was named a best music book of 2023 by Pitchfork and The Guardian. Terry was born in 1979 to a Black father and white mother, and spent his youth touring in Richmond, Virginia-based punk bands. He now lives in Los Angeles with his family and teaches creative writing for University of California San Diego and Emerson College.
